W1:
Contemporary Challenges
Our class was a time to learn and discuss broad topics relevant to First Nations in Canada. My Meaning making project seeks to offer a hyperlocalized context to BC and traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. These links will connect you to direct ways to support individuals, groups and organizations working in present time on local and immediate actions towards Indigenous Sovereignty, within each theme per week. Please take the time to educate yourself, be inspired by their work, and support financially or socially. You will notice there are many intersections and overlaps in topics that are interrelated. If there are any resources you feel are missing or could contribute to this project feel free to email me at lettmana@mail.ubc.ca
